Barbara grew up in Hazleton, Pennsylvania but has called Raleigh, North Carolina home for more than 20 years.
A graduate of Wilkes College (now Wilkes University) with a BA in Computer Science, Barbara wrote code, not prose, during her first career as a software developer/analyst. She has worked full-time as a technical writer for a healthcare software company since 2004 and has been a published nonfiction freelance writer since 2014. She is also a member of Triangle Association of Freelancers.
Barbara volunteers her time as the treasurer for the regional chapter of Recovery International, a mental health self-help organization. She also enjoys volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge. And you can find her occasionally playing rhythm acoustic guitar and singing with friends in a music circle.
Barbara lives in Raleigh with her husband and two cats.
